Clue:
Start - After you get through the Shantay pass, head east till
you cross a bridge, then head north
till you see a Desert Phoenix, pick a feather then head south
until you see a broken kiln and
other demolished structures. Nearby is the Broken Clay
Golem. He tries to speak to you but can't
because he is badly broken. Use the 4 pieces of soft clay on
him and he'll talk about opening
the portal to defeat the 'great demon'.
Ask him how you open the portal and he'll tell you that
the four statuettes must be turn to the correct pattern.Go to
the crates right across from
his location and pick up the letter. Read it and head to the
North-Eastern portion of the Digsite
(actual digsite, not the building) and speak to Ellisa. She says
the note was to her late husband
and that his notes are in the library of the Exam Centre.
Go to the building and search the book
case in the south-east corner to find the book. Read it and go
back to Ellisa, who says the statuette
is now in the Museum of Varrock. Pickpocket the Curator for
the display cabinet key and head upstairs
and retrieve the statuette.
Go back to the ruins and downstairs and to the middle of the
room, where
there is an empty spot on the eastern wall. Put the statuette
into the indent and turn the eastern
statuettes to the right, and the western to the left. Head to
the north-left corner and pick up the strange implement.
Then grab a black mushroom from one of the corners and
use it with your pestle & mortar to get black mushroom ink.
Dip your phoenix feather into the ink to get an phoenix quill.
go through the door. Hmm, I guess the demon didn't survive
after all, ah well. Head to the throne and prise the gems out
of the throne
to get 2 sapphires, 2 emeralds and 2 rubies. go back through
the portal and talk to the golem.
He won't listen to you, so use your inked phoenix feather and
you'll write on the papyrus 'YOUR TASK
IS DONE'. Use the strange implement to open the golem's
skull and place the papyrus into it.
He will thank you and, Quest Complete!
