Clue:
- Head to Al Kharid
- Get out a few buckets and your camulet out of the bank.
- Put on your camulet and talk to Al the camel, outside of the Al-kharid bank.
Ask him about his dung. Use the buckets on the dung. You'll need this later in
the quest.
- Put the camulet back, you won't need it anymore. I suggest equipping a glory.
- Head south to the desert pass. If they're in your bank, get out your desert
robes, otherwise buy a set and put them on. In your bank, get a ring of life and
a charged amulet of glory, and a home tele-tab (or any other tele-tab). This
quest has DANGEROUS areas. A one-click tele-tab should be in your inventory AT
ALL TIMES.
- Take about 5k cash with you. Buy a shantay pass. The other cash will help you
take the flying carpets.
- Also have: Waterskin(4)'s, you're gonna go through them like.. well.. water.

- Head to the desert through the desert pass, and take the Magic Carpet to
Pollnivneach.
- Head South to the other carpet spot, and take that carpet to Sophanem
- You can enter in through the gate. If you find you can't, then use the secret
passage/entrance north-east of the entrance in the desert.
- Head South from the gate to the temple. Locate and talk to the High Priest (of
Icthlarin). He has grave news for you. He wants you to identify a corpse; a
woman you know and there's a note on her saying to talk to you before embalming!
- Take the ladder upstairs; you'll be in a conversation... She's not dead yet,
she just ate Cadavaberries. It's Maisa!
- Maisa's up from her deathbed, so walk up to her and talk to her. Ask her all
the questions you have the opportunity to, one at a time.
- You learn that there are tunnels leading from the east coast of the desert
into those below Sophanem.
- Okay, after talking through all the options, we're supposed to avenge Kaleef's
death by dealing with the Scabarites in a violent manner. But first, go
downstairs and talk to the high priest again. He says if we run into the high
priest of Scabaras that we're to pacify him and not just kill him. Your
character thinks this guy is naive.
- Okay, we're supposed to head east, find the lair of these Scabarites, and lay
a beating on them. I'm good with that.
- There's a bank one ladder down in the northeast building of Sophanem. Go there
and arm up. Your best armor, your best weapon, Tuna Corn potatos, tele-tab,
super antipoison, super-set, waterskins. LEAVE A BANKSPACE OPEN IN YOUR
INVENTORY. Go back up when equipped.
- Head east out the east gate, and head east along the southern coastline until
you come to a swamp.
- You'll appear to be able to go no further, but you can right click on some of
the reeds and push on them. Look on the world map. Locate the Agility Pyramid.
to the south-east, of it, at the north-west of the swamp, and mid-way on the
east side of the big red area, there's a little right-angle shaped spot. That's
the path up onto the red area, and where you want to end up.
- Talk to the lead archaeologist, Abigail. She wants you to talk to Simon
Templeton (up at the agility pyramid), but first she wants to test your math
skills. Tell her you're ready for the test. Always round down to the nearest
whole number when you end up with a fraction. Answer her four questions
correctly.
- If you get them all right, she says she'll give you a moment to rest, and then
we'll deal with Mr. Templeton.
- Talk to her again. She says Templeton wants 6 ancient bronze chainbodies (IT
MAY BE DIFFERENT FOR EACH PLAYER though the common element seems to be you'll
need 18 bronze bars to make them) and also you'll need to deliver one golden
artifact from the top of the agility pyramid and ten gold objects from pyramid
plunder in Sophanem.
- For the bronze antiquities, you'll take modern day bronze items and distress
them. You rub camel dung into the objects under the hot desert sun and it
distresses them. (Hey, I'd be pretty distressed too if you did that to me!)
Also, using this method requires crafting level 60. If you don't have that, the
lead archaeologist can do it for you, but it will take time. Ask the assistant
for a crate to put the bronze items in.
- Go smith your bronze items that you're requested to get.
- Distress your bronze items in the desert in the hot desert sun with a single
bucket of camel dung. Use the dung on your items and distress them until they
now appear as "Oxidised {whatever}". Use your Oxidized item with the crate, and
voila, they all jump in. Done like dinner.
- You can deliver these items in the crate to Simon Templeton outside the
agility pyramid, then go after the other stuff. Talk to him and say some other
archaeologists asked you to deliver some stuff to him. Then deliver the crate of
antiquities to him.
- While you're here, do the agility pyramid and get to the top. When you first
get to the top level, remember to climb the rock face and get the gold pyramid
thing at the top PRIOR to going around the top layer and taking the path back
down to the bottom. NOTE: You can do the agility pyramid unarmed, wearing desert
clothes, if you want to run lighter.
- Okay, now go do Pyramid Plunder from the Sophanem temple (JUST south of the
northern gate, it's the little pyramid). If you've done it and are comfortable,
equip as you normally do. I'm arming up, and going with 4 TCP's, a lockpick, a
super energy, an antipoison, and a one-click tele (always have one...) This is
why you needed level 60 theiving to get down to level 5 of the pyramid. Get past
the initial traps, and find the doors for the first 4 levels. Waste time with
nothing else! It ain't worth it till you get to level 5!
- Once you've got all 10 gold pieces, return to Simon and give him his stuff.
Don't forget waterskins!
- He'll give you a receipt. Return south and east to the swamp, push through the
reeds, and get through to the archaeologists. She wants some information now.
Kill mummies, zombies and skeletons in the local area. Head north and start
fighting! Get the scabarite notes from a skeleton and zombie, and add them to
the journal the archaeologist gave you. Get out of the area by going to the
south, then head west and find the mummies by climbing the low wall. Fight them
till you get notes and add them to the journal. The last bit: Head back out the
stairs, through the reeds, and head north-east. Fight Scabarite rangers till you
get the last note. Add it to the journal and return to the lead archaeologist.
She gives you a summary of her theories and a key which will open the door up by
where the skeletons are.
- NOTE: THERE IS A SPRING HERE TO REFILL YOUR WATERSKINS. USE IT!!
- Having gotten the key, re-equip with food and potions at a bank and head back
to the northern area where the zombies and skeletons are. The way will now be
clear and you proceed downward into a new cavern.
- Here you'll find a clay golum. Talk to him, and he'll describe a 4 lever
puzzle you have to solve. NOTE: If you log off and log in again, you'll be at
the top of the stairs leading down to the lower level, which means you'll be
attacked again. If you log off due to low health, THIS MAY KILL YOU. Again, we
revisit my advice: Always have a 1 click tele-tab in your inventory!
Okay, so to the puzzle: Before you ask the golum to do anything, you're facing 4
rooms and a hallway, all with doors that are sealed. There's a nasty level 206
big scarab in one room that looks intimidating...
The lever by the scarab will cause steam to damage him. You MUST follow up and
kill him. Do NOT leave the area before all four levers are done, otherwise
you'll have to restart. Combat is useful in this room.
The narrow walkway lever will cause the greasy pipe to be cleaned with steam.
The more steam, the cleaner the pipe. However, the less power you'll have to
apply to other rooms.
The lever near the mysterious box powers the box. The more power, the longer it
stays active. Thieving is useful here.
The huge lever in the empty room loosens the mechanism. Strength will be useful
here.
- Okay, allocating power: If you're a heavy hitter, you can leave the scarab
till last. If your agility is high, leave the grease pipe. I strongly recommend
putting maximum power to the room with the mysterious box, so you can get
maximum chances in there.
The mysterious box/rune puzzle: It's a memory type of game. You can work the cog
and pinion to get more chances. There are three plusses you can add, I got 35
total.
- Start at the upper left, and work right, then down to the next row. Reveal the
runes and keep track of what they are in a spreadsheet or on paper. Three of
each type are present.
If you instantly run across a three, Click them to highlight them all and get
them out of the series! Putting max power to the puzzle seems to help put the
runes in order, left to right too.

- Put max power to the puzzle; the more chances, the better.
- Put 2nd max power to the scarab if you're not a level 120+ combat type, to the
pipe if you are.
- Put 3rd max power to the pipe
- Put 4th max power to the empty room if you have high strength
BALANCE IT TO YOUR PERSONAL SKILLS!
When you get all four doors open, you'll find the hallway open!
- There's a trap a couple of squares into the hallway, search it and try using
your agility skill to avoid the trap.
- Run to the room in the northwest. You're gonna get pummeled, so have food and
antipoison at the ready, and there are traps too. Hooboy. Once you're in the
room, you'll talk to the high priest of scabaras.
- Ask questions. If he goes mad, protect against how he's attacking you until he
resumes talking to you. He's quite mad. Eventually he seems to come to his
senses and promises that the followers will not attack you as long as you don't
attack them, and you should return to the highpriest of Ictharin in Sophanem to
tell him. I was poisoned badly with that special yellow poison sign that we had
in Zogre Flesh Eaters, so teleport the hell out of there with an amulet or your
one click tele, get to a bank, and drink down your relicym's balm so you're no
longer dying, and get some food into you, you'll need it!
- Get back to Al Kharid, and back to Sophanem if you had to teleport out, and
talk to the high priest of Ictharin in the temple with the prayer altar.
- He's glad that the followers of Scabaras will no longer attack his people. You
ask him for a reward, he offers the knowledge of how to create an Enchanted
Water tiara which will protect you from the fierce desert heat.
Rewards:
- 1 Quest Point
- Can Craft an enchanted Water Tiara
- 7000 Agility XP
- 7000 Prayer XP
- 7000 Strength XP
- 7000 Thieving XP
TOTAL NEW QUEST POINTS IF YOU JUST GOT YOUR QUEST CAPE BACK: 250 !
